OpenGL: Dropshadows on sprite objects disappear when looking straight down at the object
In OpenGL, dropshadows for sprite objects disappear if the sprite is no longer being rendered. Normally this is fine (i.e. culling), but sprites are also not rendered if the camera is looking straight down at them. This leads to a bug: looking straight down at a sprite object means both the sprite and the dropshadow disappear, giving no indication of where the object is.
I came across this bug during my many score attack runs, since they often involve high-flying Crawla bounces. I also mainly play in first-person, so I have to look down to aim these bounces.
Forgive me for my lack of coding, technical, and GitLab knowledge; I am simply a normal player reporting a bug, nothing more.
