ERZ1 Texture and Sector Issues
So I was playing through ERZ1 and noticed that a lot of textures with either not aligned properly of flat out not aligned at all, as well as many inconsistencies, leading to some rather haphazard visuals. I've compiled a list of all of them and categorized them all based on what kind of issue they are :B
(I am fully aware some of these are kind of nitpicky and probably not worth the effort since this zone is getting a major rework in 2.3, but I'd still like the ERZ we currently have to at least look presentable.)
Bad Texture alignment
Midtextures/Linedef Textures that are improperly aligned.This last one in particular has always bugged the fuck out of me. Technically the player never sees it in SP, but you can still come back here in Multiplayer games and it looks really awful. Even then, you can see the other poorly misaligned wall even IN singleplayer.
Weird Lighting in Sectors
These are Sectors that have odd or questionable lighting to them (in my opinion). Since there aren't as many I'll go into more detail about why they look bad.For some reason these little platforms in the low-grav platforming section near the start of the right path are darker than the surrounding environment. Originally I thought that this was due to the player being upside down, but no, you actually enter this area right side up, so there is no reason for these sectors to be dark like this.
Same issue as before; the sectors are darker than the rest of the environment. I suppose you could make the case that it's the surrounding lava but the room seems to big for that to make sense. It's also now inconsistent with the way Red Volcano Zone uses its lava as a light source. YMMV though.
This is where I'm no longer able to suspend my disbelief. There is no way that these conveyor belts should be casting shadows both above and below themselves when they are surrounded by lava on literally all sides.
Other Shit
This is the other stuff I found that wasn't frequent enough to warrant its own section.I am really confused by what is happening with this part of the entrance room.
There are some sections where the flats to these kinds of windows here aren't properly aligned like they should be.
This linedef has the scrolling and carrying affects applied to it. Not sure if this is intentional or not.
