I'm pretty sure it happens due to directionchar's (Standard mode) effects still happening in first person, I hope that there could be an option to make it so directionchar automatically gets disabled when you switch to first person, and be turned on when you switch to third person.
@Man553 it's not an issue in strafe, but there are sometimes moments in custom maps where I need to use first person to look vertically... In general follow objects seen like this just annoy me
