The inconsistency is due to the fact that Software always renders translucent FOF flats at full brightness, no matter the brightness level of the surrounding sector. OpenGL used to do that too, until !1857 (merged). So it looks like it's Software and 2.2.10 OpenGL that are wrong here, and only 2.2.11 OpenGL is rendering it correctly.
