The issue says it all. In Sonic 3, the Thunder Shield will flash the screen white for a split-second after falling in water, losing the shield. The Flame Shield also disappears upon hitting the water, but without a flash. SRB2 has an unfitting screen flash for the Flame Shield, so this takes it out for consistency's sake.
