Entering visual mode sometimes (partially) hangs UZB
I've noticed that a lot of times when I enter visual mode, it stops responding to keyboard input temporarily. I can still move the mouse around and see the camera move, but nothing else will do anything, not even attempting to leave visual mode. When this happens, I often see the info bar at the bottom taking a really long time to draw, like I'll see a texture appear, then the next texture will appear next to it, and each thing appearing one step at a time as if I'm watching a PowerPoint slide. There seems to be a correlation with the time it takes to fully draw and the time UZB starts responding again, so perhaps this area could use some extra optimization.
I am using Linux, in case this is necessary for reproducing it.
